21 January – 15 February

This show belongs to the Fringe2024 season. This season is now over.

Jessie Gordon's Approximate Folk

Jessie Gordon’s Approximate Folk (JGAF for short) is a seven-piece musical ferris wheel - one that’s possibly on fire depending on the day. Featuring Jessie's original music, there’s aching blues, rollicking country, a cheeky bit of swing, some lush ballads, and some general nonsense (our favourite).

The band features Jessie’s long-time dream team rhythm section, Karl Florisson on double bass, Michael Perkins on drums, and the incredibly fast-fingered Jon Knox-Matthews on electric guitar. In the front line, Jessie is joined by Grammy award winning pedal steel player Lucky Oceans and virtuoso violinist Emily Gelineau. Approximate Folk is incomplete without the incomparable Mark Turner.
