Frank by Frankie
In 2003, a 19-year-old songbird from North London released her debut album. To her, it was a memento of personal revelations of love & life combined with a celebration of jazz & soul music. Amy Winehouse was & always will be a powerful force of nature, who transformed the face of music. Her divine, completely unique vocal style & lyricism of a brutally honest, barb-tongued, poetic nature transcended her years. Frank was titled as an homage to Amy's idol, Frank Sinatra & embraces her heavy jazz roots alongside a fusion of jazz & soul music.
Using organic phrasing, improvisation & a raw contralto tone, Amy made groundbreaking music history that went on to sell over a million copies, win an Ivor Novello Award & receive a triple-platinum certification by the British Phonographic Industry.
