Dream Girl

Growing up is hard. Growing up as a lesbian is harder. Growing up as a lesbian in the closet is very stressful. Growing up as a lesbian who gets outed because of jealousy is absolutely dreadful. However, it happens more often than you think.

The story of Jess and Belinda is one shared by many of our youth, trying to find support but being given the other cheek by those who consider themselves holier-than-thou. Dream Girl lets our young ones know that they're not alone, and there's a silver lining to the sadness.

Presented by: The Red Velvet Effect

A group of theatre practitioners who embrace stories of equality, whether fiction or fact.

Helmed by the ever alluring Madame Red Velvet a.k.a Cassee Lazic, The Red Velvet Effect premiered in FRINGE WORLD 2016 with Eyes To The Floor. Three years on, Madame is teaming up with writer Luke Heath and the directing duo will bring the touching story of Dream Girl on to the stage.
