This show belongs to the Fringe2024 season. This season is now over.

Amárach: Music, Myths and Mead

Come and enjoy your favourite drink while listening to mystical melodies and toe-tapping tunes performed by the Perth-based Celtic folk band, Amárach. Be transported into the mythical realm of the old Celtic Isles through well-known classics such as 'Scarborough Fair' and 'The Parting Glass' in addition to stunning uncharted airs and dance tunes. You'll also get the chance to sing along (and maybe even learn a line or two in Gaelic!)

The word 'Amárach' means 'tomorrow' in Irish Gaelic, representing the band's objective: to bring the beauty of old folk music into modern context, through the merging of traditional and modern instrumentation.

Musicians: Jacqui Ellison (Voice, harp, percussion), Sarah Curran (guitar), Elise Rosenberg (Violin) and Tarmon Gibson (flute, whistle).

Presented by: Amárach - Celtic Quartet
