The ninth longest-running off-Broadway musical in history, Altar Boyz is an affectionate parody of boy bands and Christian rock.
The Altar Boyz a struggling five member Christian boy-band (with one nice Jewish boy) - Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham. The show tells the story of the five small-town but talented heartthrobs who have joined forces to save the souls of the world one screaming fan at a time through their righteous music, with lyrics like "Girl, You Make Me Wanna Wait" and "Jesus Called Me on My Cell Phone".
Full of sharp parody, spectacular dancing, and irreverent humor, Altar Boyz is presented in real time as a concert, the last concert of the Boyz' national "Raise the Praise" tour.
