Hear about Ella's early life in Harlem on the streets, her painful shyness, a lucky chance encounter with Marilyn Monroe to becoming the first African American women to win a Grammy.

UK-born Perth-based vocalist Catherine Summers is acclaimed for her timbre tone and uniquely versatile voice. Her voice along with her ‘instantly familiar’ candour has led her to become a busy full-time performer of choice in Perth. And, as well as delivering beautiful songs, and productions of a variety of sell out shows, she’s often weaving tid-bits of rich musical history from bygone eras and includes a whole lot of humour. This, and her rich broad vocal range has given her a title of a delight to watch.
Since her 2008 debut, Catherine Summers has lit up many events, festivals, high profile galas and regularly performs nationally and internationally. She’s a resident sell-out artist at local Perth and Melbourne jazz clubs, and has featured in many revered festivals.
