10 Hidden Fringe Venues

Perth is packed full of history and charm, funky hidden bars and spaces that make the most of WA’s stunning coastline.

If you’re looking for a show somewhere special, let us take you on a journey to our city’s unexpected Fringe venues.

1. Moana Hall

Inspired by the Gatsby Era, this upper floor venue is a hidden gem perfect for music lovers of all kinds. Step back in time with Tea Break and learn the history of tea through immersive music.

2. AQWA

Sea-life and comedy - seems like a good date idea? Don’t let 33 Years Single be the one that got away: catch it at the Aquarium of Western Australia.

3. City of Perth Surf Lifesaving Club

With all venue proceeds from FRINGE WORLD helping the Surf Life Saving services within the City Beach community, get on the dancefloor at #Cheese on Toast and feel good about it!

4. Leederville Sporting Club

The West Leedy Bowlo has nostalgia for days, so head down and soak up its retro-Australian atmosphere with Musical Pinwheels: A Nostalgic Recycle Instrument Project Workshop.

5. Convenients

Enter via the fridge door at this quaint little convenients store and find a secret bar and Experimental Comedy Club hidden within.

6. Scitech

If you’re fascinated by constellations, coincidence and other cosmic accidents, hit up someone you think is cute and do Dome Date Night in Scitech’s Planetarium.

7. The Crystal Swan

Fatal Femmes - it’s literally a Fringe show in a glass cube floating on the Swan River.

8. The Stables

A little bit country, The Stables pays tribute to its historical beginning as Perth’s first horse stable. At The Confessional, you can forgive your sins with a Tim Tam and goon in one of Perth’s most glamourous basements.

9. Freo.Social

Set on the site of Australia’s first indoor badminton court, Freo.Social plays host to a range of local and international musicians, including The Velvet Playboys Orchestra and Funked Up Brass during the 2022 season.

10. Government House Ballroom

Don’t let your dreams be dreams! Grab a seat for Birth of the Blues! Simon Craddock Combo and sit in the same spot as royalty do when holidaying down-under.
