Red Flag Cabaret is the first date you absolutely should say yes to. Delete your Tinder, Hinge and Feeld accounts and come along for the ride. This adults-only variety show dives headfirst into the delicious mess of modern romance and the warning signs we all pretend not to see.
Underscored by iconic toxic love songs and razor-sharp, self-aware humour, this modern dating satire blends live music, burlesque, comedy and physical theatre into something that feels both slick and gloriously unhinged. The PowerPoint on online dating red flags? Genius. Especially as the question lands, **Are we the red flag??** The magic trick slips in unexpectedly in a humorous and oddly poetic way. And that toxic love-song soundtrack ties it all together like a glitter-drenched emotional support blanket.
Nikki (Little Miss Squeezebox) anchors the chaos as a magnetic MC with effortless improv and real stage presence. Her accordion playing and vocals were flawless. Trash Barbie delivers powerhouse charisma, big vocals, and even bigger wit. The Nicki, Mariah and Mona moments are bold, eclectic and completely devour the room. Each performer had their moment to shine and shine they do…without being gaslit.
What I loved most was the intimate, raw, fearless vibe with pure early-days Fringe energy. Affordable, packed with local talent, and completely committed to audience engagement. You’re not just watching. You’re implicated.
Red Flag Cabaret is hilarious, relatable, a little naughty, and surprisingly heartfelt underneath the glitter. It is a hidden gem that knows exactly what it’s doing.
