I took a step inside the colour, chaos and pure absurdity of a live Japanese game show and was entertained from start to finish. From the moment it begins, the energy is relentless. Bright, loud, fast and completely unpredictable, it captures that unmistakable spirit of Japanese TV where anything can happen.
The entire show runs in Japanese. My C grade Year 10 language skills meant I could probably understand one in every thirty words - and yet it did not matter in the slightest! The physical comedy, the reactions, the stakes and the commitment of the host and challengers carried everything. Even without having a clue what people are saying, you are completely swept up in all the momentum.
The vibe is electric. The audience feels involved, the performers are so much fun, and the unpredictability keeps you on edge in the best possible way. It genuinely feels like you have stumbled into something rare and slightly unhinged, in the most joyful sense.
My only critique is the running time. The show clocked in at around 30 minutes, which is noticeably shorter than advertised. It left me wanting more, which is both a compliment and a frustration. Had it run its full length, this would have easily been a five-star experience.
As it stands, it’s a high-energy, wildly entertaining spectacle that earns a strong four stars out of five.
