The Bakers is an absolute treat! It’s one of those shows that sweeps you up in its world within seconds and leaves you grinning long after it ends. The whole performance feels like stepping into a cosy, slightly chaotic French bakery where everything smells like fresh bread and mischief. It follows three wonderfully silly French bakers-a proud father and his two well‑meaning but hopelessly clumsy sons, Jean‑Pierre and Jean‑Claude-as they try to keep their tiny family boulangerie running.

The comedy leans into that classic, old‑school physical style you’d expect from Charlie Chaplin or Mr Bean. There isn’t much talking, but honestly, it doesn’t need it. Every scene is crafted with such clever detail, tiny gestures, perfectly timed mishaps, and beautifully choreographed chaos that you always know exactly what’s going on. It’s the kind of humour that feels universal, warm, and instantly nostalgic.

Created by the award‑winning troupe The Latebloomers, the show blends slapstick, mime, and heartfelt storytelling into something that feels both timeless and fresh. Between flying dough, family squabbles, and the looming pressure of the modern world creeping into their old‑fashioned craft, the trio somehow turns everyday bakery life into a hilarious little adventure.

It’s charming, ridiculous, and genuinely uplifting, like a warm baguette for the soul.
