Adore Händel: Cautionary Tales is a deliciously sharp and glittering reminder that cabaret can be both wildly entertaining and quietly devastating. Adore brings a commanding stage presence, equal parts diva, storyteller, and mischievous ringmaster, whilst guiding us through a series of outrageous tales from their little black book of lovers (and some of the audience’s too).

The show balances humour with bite, alongside impressive operatic renditions. Each tale unfolds with theatrical flair, but never feels hollow, and there’s always an undercurrent of truth beneath the sparkle. Adore’s vocal work is striking, using music not just as performance, but as punctuation for the stories being told.

What really stands out is the intimacy of the experience; it feels like we’re at our dramatic and dazzling BFF’s sleepover, being let in on all the filthy secrets. The pacing stays lively, and Adore’s wit keeps the audience constantly engaged, whether through a sly aside, a sudden twist in tone, or even some unexpected audience participation courtesy of Philippe the sheep (who proves that even farmyard friends aren’t safe from perilous gossip).

Cautionary Tales is a bold, stylish performance that manages to be both fun and thought-provoking. If you’re after comedy cabaret with substance, sass, and a hint of darkness behind the sequins, Adore Händel is well worth your time.
