With 23-years in the improvised comedy business under their belts, it is clear that the brains behind the Big HOO-HAA show have tinkered and perfected their format, establishing themselves as a well-deserved cult-favourite performance in our beloved Perth.

The premise of the show is based on six improvisational actors being split into two teams – the Hearts & the Bones – before undergoing a chaotic rollercoaster of improv games dished out by the MC, with artistic influence stemming from audience members shouting out suggestions, and musical accompaniment from a hidden keyboardist. Imagine a show that consists of a pinch of ‘Thank God You’re Here’, a sprinkle of ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway, and a dash of pantomime-like audience participation (hint: expect a lot of ‘oohhs’, ‘ahhs’, and of course, ‘HOO-HAAs!’)

Although chaotic, the mayhem is craftily curated to ensure the players on stage have the ability to engage in their art form while also maintaining their professionalism. The feel-good show never strayed from its competition objective (especially when audience-voting was in play!) and overall was fast-paced in order to fit in as many games and laughs as possible. The fact that every show is completely unique, with a change of cast, games, and audience, making anything possible, is a credit to the mastermind team of performers who bravely embrace the madness and its genuine moments of creativity.

Whether you’re looking for a power-hour of comedy, some guaranteed giggles, or just wanting to support our super-talented local artists, then Heave yourself Ho-ver to the next session of the Big HOO-HAA!
