"Welcome to the wedding of Dave and Tony....I'm your MC for the reception...in reality, I'm also the Maid Of Honour, Chloe, the Best Man, Chris, the awkward uncle that no one wants to sit near, Pete and the Father of the Groom, Ricky."
Andy takes you through the entire range of speeches at the wedding of Dave, a 35-year-old Accountant (the horny little man) and Tony, a 35 year old Lawyer (the adult teenager). He slips into character with the help of a few costume props and delivers the various speeches to the wedded couple. They are a mix of Aussie maaaate, insincere, judgmental Aunt and the hilarious Uncle Pete, who doesn't know the difference between he/him/they and what all that fuss is about anyway. They are well received, sometimes with the "you can't say that" gasp, followed by laughter. They are also used as a vehicle to deliver the "love is love" message, which has a strong thread throughout the show.
Andy is definitely comfortable in the spotlight; he's quick-witted and very clever at what he does. He's in and out of character quickly, but can bring the lines of Uncle Peter's speech back in at the drop of a hat when he's back in MC mode.
Keep in mind, this show is a sketch comedy, so it's not full of laugh-a-minute one-liners. It's clever, sharp and well delivered. It does make you laugh, but it also makes you think, and appreciate that we are all different, love IS love, and we are ALL entitled to that!
