This musical tribute takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through the early careers and lasting friendship of Carole King and James Taylor, featuring hits such as I Feel the Earth Move, Natural Woman, and You’ve Got a Friend, performed by Dan Clews and Lucy Songi.

The show is more than a simple tribute concert. It celebrates King and Taylor through their music but also through the stories that sit behind each composition, album and award. The narrative frames the songs within the arcs of their respective lives: King’s rise as a prolific songwriter and recording artist herself, Taylor’s emergence as a folk‑rock icon despite health battles. Most importantly, it explores the synergy of their work together throughout both their careers.

This structure gives the show momentum and emotional resonance. It is clear that the Night Owl team take pride in their deep research and understanding of the unique back stories which led to some of the 70s' most celebrated and enduring records.

Beyond the King and Taylor celebration, Dan and Lucy are extremely talented musicians in their own right and bring a warmth and authenticity to the stage that is superb to watch.

The show is a soulful, stripped-back celebration of a beautiful friendship and even better music. Perfect for fans of the era, or anyone with an appreciation for King and Taylor’s music who has never heard about the amazing circumstances that brought it all together.
