Walking into Emma Krause: Spanx and the City at this year’s FRINGE WORLD festival, the vibes were high, with an “all-but-one-man” female audience filling the room. After a “David Attenborough–style” introduction, Emma burst onto the stage, music blaring, and she did not disappoint. From the moment she began, Emma had us all in the palm of her hand, and by the end, my cheeks were aching from laughter.
The night began with Emma congratulating us all on simply making it out of the house. She then took us through the familiar process of going from waking up looking like we’ve been “tasered” to actually leaving the house — and she had us. Laugh-out-loud moments abounded as we related, clapped, and cheered along.
We were taken on a hilarious journey through motherhood, netball, menopause, and friendships. Not to mention a highly educational, hysterical, and surprisingly informative lesson in talking to teenagers. The show clearly resonated with the audience, covering topics we could all relate to.
Spanx and the City entertained, delighted, and thoroughly amused with intelligent comedy and flawless delivery. A seasoned professional and master of her craft, Emma Krause delivered a sell-out show for a reason.
Grab a friend, a glass of wine, and settle in — get ready to smile till your cheeks hurt. The perfect way to end a woman’s working week.
