Little Ladybug is a fresh and energetic comedy that explores grief, friendship and growing up.

The set design is steeped in nostalgia, featuring Aussie outdoor entertaining staples of the glasstop table and mismatched camping chairs. The lighting and sound work is a marvel in itself; every beat has an impact and emotional weight that creates a roaring pace to the performance's emotional climax.

One highlight of this performance is the multimodal storytelling. Audiences are invited to shift their attention between the actors on stage and projected film clips of the same characters as they reflect on past memories. These transitions are incredibly smooth and make for a layered performance that fans of live theatre will love.

The playlist (while not strictly Y2K) features banger after banger as the performers dance and entertain the audience with the individual charm of each character.

The friendship at the centre of this show rings clear as each actor in the Little Ladybug cast delivers embodied and considered performances. The monologues are a fresh take on the struggles of finding your feet post-high school, while the grief of loss looms over.

Bring along your friends for this rollercoaster of emotion and nostalgia hits. You’ll be laughing, crying and reflecting on your youth. And yes, asking "what bug am I?" on the car ride home.
