Quindell Orton’s storytelling is intimate, gritty and curious, exploring what quantifies “masculinity” and asking why it seems so tightly bound to men and the male form.

This show is like nothing I have ever seen before, blending a lecture-style TED Talk with technology, breathwork, and dance. Making of a Man is both playful and considered, exploring alternate forms of masculinity and asks the audience to leave their bias at the door.

Littered with interviews and conversations with experts, Quindell tries to tie down what masculinity means and how it is subverted every day. You follow chapter by chapter through the mind of a child, to the pitch of a voice and silicone abbs, and leave with a desire to learn more.

I absolutely recommend this show, if not for the incredible performance, then for the questions and curiosities that follow you out the door.
