You’re at work when you find out the world is going to end in 30 minutes. What do you do?

This is the question Deadlines explores in its dark comedy about two office workers grappling with an existential crisis under an impossible deadline.

It’s a wholehearted performance by the two-person cast. Moving confidently between fear, joy, and release, the acting feels authentic and consistently engaging. The performers share strong chemistry, grounding the absurdity of the premise and keeping the scenes active and playful.

The dialogue is smartly written, allowing the characters to develop clearly over the course of the show. There are moments of the surreal that hint at deeper possibilities and could have been pushed further. Even so, the central question, what we truly value when time runs out, lands without ever feeling heavy-handed.

Sticking the landing is often the riskiest part of this genre, and Deadlines delivers a solid and satisfying conclusion.

Overall, Deadlines is a fun and engaging experience for audiences drawn to dark comedy and intimate theatre. Its acting and writing are impressive, and it’s a creative team worth keeping an eye on.
