To Whom It May Concern: Complaint Letters Live! is a solid and appealing concept, offering a range of humorous complaints about everyday frustrations.
Delivered by a cast of storytellers, the show presents a vivid mix of grievances, from internal battles with dopamine to the incorrect use of swim lanes at Beatty Park. The format largely succeeds in balancing complaint without tipping into rant, creating an experience that is often playful and engaging.
Host Annabel Smith grounds the evening, providing cohesion between segments and highlighting one of the show’s strengths - the diversity of voices and writing styles. A little bit of editing around length and structure could help the content land with greater impact.
To Whom It May Concern has clear potential and offers an appealing platform for authentic spoken word. It’s a worthwhile show for those interested in the craft, with plenty of upside for the future.
