Glitch is slick, stylish and seriously impressive! Prepare to be transported into this moody, futuristic world where everything feels polished, purposeful and just a little bit deliciously strange. It’s a high-concept circus that looks and feels next level.
The production is visually spectacular, the lighting, music and staging are all absolutely on point. I especially loved the lasers and the dance routine interludes, which break things up beautifully and keep the energy buzzing. The fire performance is a brilliant circuit-breaker between the aerial acts too… who doesn’t love a bit of heat to shake things up?!
And what can we say about the performers? The lead performer's confidence, control and stage presence are extremely impressive! It’s genuinely exciting watching talent like this command the stage so effortlessly. Huge shout-out to the duo sisters routine, who were hands-down my favourite. They were strong, graceful, daring and totally mesmerising. They gave me girl power goosebumps!
The aerial pole work (yes… aerial pole dancing!) is jaw-dropping and beautifully executed, and the whole show has this cool choose your character vibe, futuristic costumes, sharp movement and moments where everything glitches just enough to keep you guessing. It switches cleverly between fast and exciting, playful and powerful, then back again.
Overall, Glitch is well-polished, clever and completely captivating, and a shining example of why we should be cheering loudly for local WA performers. Inspiring hundreds in the audience to join their Malaga circus troupe (this reviewer included!)! This contemporary circus brings a bit of edge, a bit of attitude and a whole lot of talent to Fringe.
An absolute must-see!
