Can you define what is normal? In Mel McGlensey is NORMAL it becomes rather apparent that normal is less definitive a term as weird.

Mel McGlensey is a seasoned ‘weird’ comedian – her style is offbeat and hilarious, and completely unhinged. In NORMAL, she attempts to perform a normal comedy show. The premise is brilliant – McGlensey is trapped in a simulator where she must perform comedy bits that are not too out there in order to be released. Enter: the algorithm. The audience is provided with different choices in comedy bits and react to them by giving them a score in normalcy. Simple? This show is so incredibly sharp you could use it to skewer kebabs at a barbeque.

McGlensey’s sketches and ideas are completely unhinged – her comedy is very physical, and she delights in audience interaction. Her audience-led bits are so clever they are intuitive enough to encourage participation without bashing people over the head with the concept. As the show changes every time, I cannot guarantee what you will see. McGlensey has clever bits about a large-breasted T-Rex – her physical humour on point here, a simple bit of classic comedy as a bird protecting its eggs, guessing how the audience will die, and some completely whacky fan art.

In the end you decide if Mel McGlensey is indeed normal. McGlensey is having a ball – completely in her element – it’s a show with no fixed ending, the ultimate comedy choose your own adventure and McGlensey shines in every outcome.

You can see just how normal Mel manages to be in The Pleasure Garden until 1st February 2026.TICKETS
