Psycho or Psychic is a remarkable combination of ingredients.
I was so impressed that I looked for the recipe in the flyer, and found confirmation of the key skills: "Physical Theatre Comedy - Clown".
Indeed, our Busselton-born writer and performer, Sarah Francis, has been trained in good schools, and it shows. Her face can be dynamically transformed, along with her voice and look.
She put on boots with thick high heels with a high kick - wow! For me, that is nearly acrobatic: even at her young age, there’s no way I could even try! This one-woman comedy performance is varied, rich and spectacular.
Audience participation was remarkably successful, with various engagements. It also involved switching characters, with volunteers taking on her role, which mostly involved wearing an apron, as a cafe server. She instantly turned into a sophisticated 'meditation coach' and others. Several audience members were also given props to help dress her as Superwoman (the poster image).
Sarah also displayed impressive aplomb when dealing with tech limitations. Maybe 'improvisation' could be an additional skill on display.
The flier adds "TRUE psychic events", and a later chat with the multitalented artist confirmed that the comedy was based on her own personal experiences, illustrated more soberly near the end. Again, quoting the flyer, the show is "BOLD - UNHINGED - HILARIOUS".
