100% Suburban Standup Comedy Showcase with Jez Watts is your classic comedy night format. Four comedians perform for about 10 minutes each, whilst Jez MCs and performs between the acts. 

The venue is upstairs at the Sail and Anchor, and before you’ve even entered the room, you are greeted with Jez’s smile and banter. He creates a warm and friendly atmosphere before you’ve sat down. 

I enjoyed the surprise element of not knowing who the comedians are and, therefore, what the night will entail. 

We had a mix of local, national and international comedians of varying experience. 

A standout for me was a young British comedian, Anthony Heston. He was at ease on stage, had great interaction with the crowd at the start and throughout the show. He used a PowerPoint show as a pro,p and his humour was clever, clean and funny. Seeing a snippet of him perform has definitely made me want to book tickets to his show ‘10 Things You Shouldn’t Do’. 

The variety in the night means there is definitely someone you will love!
