If you are trying to find the perfect show to introduce your little one to the world of Fringe… this is it!
Bubba Licious is a 30-minute, toddler and baby-focussed performance packed full of sing-along songs, fantastic puppets, dazzling lights, slap-stick comedy, and every kid’s favourite, bubbles!
The main presenter, Milli Higgin, was engaging, funny, and really connected with her audience; not an easy feat when many of them are still struggling to sit upright! The show’s co-creator, Kat Grey, was working her magic in the background, assisting with puppets and props to make the performance a seamless affair.
The show was chock-full of songs we all know, making it easy to get involved by singing along. The puppets, especially the butterflies, were visually stunning and, combined with the lighting and music, made the show feel truly magical.
Personally, the big draw card of this show was the promise of bubbles as my baby is obsessed with them, and while they were pretty spectacular (especially the giant bubbles!) the surprise game of Keepy-Uppy (shoutout to Bluey fans) was a real highlight and such a great way to get the parents involved, while letting the kids burn off some energy.
Now for the important info for parents: pram parking is available within the venue (Perth Town Hall), and there are baby change facilities easily accessible during the show. While there is seating for the performance, the very best spot is sitting on the floor in front of the stage, especially if you have wriggly toddlers!
Bubba Licious is a fantastic show for little ones (and big ones) who are looking for a fun and family-focussed FRINGE WORLD show with puppets, songs, balloons, and bubbles, and a little bit of magic.
