After watching her take out the first Taskmaster Australia in 2023, I have had a hankering for the kind of silly comedy that only Danielle Walker can provide. And believe me - she delivers in her self-proclaimed ‘unfinished’ show, Tinkering.

To tinker is to make small changes to something in an attempt to repair or improve it, and Danielle took us on a relatable journey as she was rediscovering herself after the breakdown of a long-term relationship that had reached its expiry date.

From a silly story of bondage gone wrong, to her perspective on how to attempt eye contact, and to stories of her grandfather solving crimes from his hospital bed, her 60-minute set gave me all the feels.

“This one knows things”, - something her grandfather says about Danielle, was apparent in her set. She certainly knows how to make you chortle and also sympathy cry by delivering stories in such silly and vulnerable ways. Her unique take on the world really makes it feel like comedy just comes naturally to her, and we were momentarily a part of her whimsical world.

Towards the end of the set, Danielle gave us an insight into the special bond she has with her grandfather and how being around him and her family in Townsville, even during sad times, reminded her of who she was. Danielle, with her hilarious quirks, country humour and eccentricities, is an excellent storyteller, and her show Tinkering was an absolute delight to watch.
