80s Mixtape | Top of the Pops burst onto the FRINGE WORLD stage in a riot of neon, nostalgia and jaw-dropping circus, proving the magic of the 80s is very much alive. From the moment the lights went out, this high-energy circus troupe delivered a joyful celebration of a decade defined by big hits and bigger hair.

An early standout act set the tone beautifully with an upbeat, cheer-filled hoop routine. The performer’s energy was infectious, with hoops seemingly defying gravity as they hung from every limb.

The mood then shifted effortlessly into something darker and more dramatic, showing the emotional range of the production.

Romance made an appearance, too, with a beautifully connected aerial duet performed high above the stage. The chemistry between the performers was undeniable and the act offered a softer, heartfelt moment within the show.

The MC deserves a special mention. He kept the energy high and the crowd entertained while the next act set-ups happened behind the scenes.

What really stood out was the broad appeal. My companion at the show, Miss 14, was not even a twinkle in her father’s eye in the 80s, yet she was completely captivated. She noticed several other kids in the audience and declared the show very much kid-friendly. Proof that while the soundtrack may be retro, the show is fresh and relevant.

80s Mixtape | Top of the Pops is vibrant, polished and irresistibly fun. It’s a crowd-pleaser in the very best sense. It’s packed with nostalgia for those who lived it while still being hugely enjoyable for a new generation.
