Late to the Party: The ADHD Hour was a fun hour filled with the best kind of chaos.

In typical ADHD fashion, I forgot the show was more than just a comedy act and was actually a cabaret. However, this was a pleasant turn of events, and from the first song, I couldn’t stop smiling. Jessica Bigg and Eliza Dickson were the life of the party, dancing and singing on stage while introducing us to the many aspects of ADHD. Treating each of the symptoms as welcome (or sometimes challenging) guests to a party was an engaging and thoughtful way to introduce the audience to the various pros and cons of having ADHD.

Jessica and Eliza put a creative twist on well-loved songs, using them to express the wonders and challenges of ADHD. Such as using the song “I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” to discuss “focus” (or lack thereof) and how making eye contact can actually be difficult. They were both talented singers who were clearly having fun on stage, and their infectious energy spread throughout the audience. They occasionally sang off-key, which was mostly effective as a comedic effect and only sometimes a little painful (shout-out to the sensory issues).

All in all, The ADHD Hour was a highly entertaining and relatable show that I would highly recommend seeing! If you have ADHD, then you will feel right at home, and if you don’t, then you will leave with a better understanding of your loved ones who do.
