Inspired by pop culture, The Flute Revamped takes you on a journey from childhood stories, 80s-inspired pop music and beatboxing to iconic talk shows. The hour-long performance takes the audience on an emotional ride too, from melancholy, intrigue, nostalgia, humour and delight.

Melanie Walters’ mastery of her instrument takes the flute from “part of an orchestra” to centre stage and her playing is flawless. The uniqueness of each piece demands vastly different techniques and the whole performance is delivered effortlessly. Combining three flute changes across the performance, each flute elicited sounds and vibes you never thought possible in a flute.

Mesmerizing and inspiring, The Flute Revamped is perfect for anyone intrigued by the possibilities of the flute, or indeed a masterclass from a world-class musician. To find a flaw in this show is near impossible ... only that I wish more people were there to witness such a unique performance. I walked away feeling I had experienced something truly special.
