Private school and the animal kingdom combine to create this incredible production which mixes both contemporary and movement-based performance in an intense and engaging theatrical piece.

Bite Back, written by Tara Booth, Macy Curtis, and Summer Rule, and produced by Penelope Gordon, explores the idea that the ecosystem of an all-girls private high school can change everyone involved when one or more members does something that alters their lives and, to an extent, their whole reality.

The performers in Bite Back understand and present their characters perfectly, and they all balance the shift between high school girl and animal in a manner that adds more proof to their performance and creative abilities. Macy Curtis as Bridget, Liv Doyle as Georgia, Summer Rule as Annabelle, Catherine Jones as Mia, and Tara Booth as Bea were so incredible that the audience gave them a standing ovation.

Composer Clayton O’Toole, Sound Operator Emma Smith, and Lighting Designer/Operator Nicholas Rose create an incredible ambience and theatrical experience that leads the audience along during the piece and pairs well with the performances on stage – especially the sound cues for the animalistic scenes and the ending of the piece, where reality and hierarchy alter.

An incredible piece and production that is a must-see for FRINGE WORLD Perth 2026!
