FLIGHT is a mind-bending experience that will totally transform how you think of air travel. This show is nerve-racking, utterly thought-provoking and not for the faint-hearted, raising big questions in such a tiny space and short amount of time.

It becomes apparent early on that, inside the world of FLIGHT, there is more than one reality at play as a pre-recorded inflight video flickers between the here and now, the then and when. Next thing you know, you’re plunged into total, unrelenting darkness: the perfect space for production company Darkfield to capitalise on their signature 3D sound experience.

This piece isn’t all jump scares and fear. Darkfield have woven enough humour into this work to create moments that will make you grin and laugh out loud. Some of the jokes, such as those pertaining to a certain philosopher and his famous pet, are rather subtle. Others though take the uncomfortable, push it, then flip it on its head.

But yes… FLIGHT does contain terror. And so it should: for many, flying is a nerve-wracking test of endurance, fraught with uncertainty and a particular turbulence of the heart and mind. Darkfield are fully aware of this. And they don’t hold back.

The true charm of this show is the narrative threaded throughout. This isn’t a simple flying from A to B kinda ride. This takes you where you need to go by making you confront unquestionable possibilities, leaning right into your ear, reassuring you as your entire world barrels through a storm of adrenaline. Needless to say, you will leave this flight with your mind blown and your limbs quivering.

If you hate flying, then you’ll love this show. FLIGHT marries the best and worst of the flying experience – minus the lengthy check-in and choosing between the chicken or the fish – to create a short, sharp and thoroughly unforgettable immersive experience.
