The team from Cluedunnit greeted everyone at the door, with performers already mingling in the room, talking with the dinner guests.

Taking us back to the early 1930s – with performers and diners like dressing in a style reminiscent of an age gone by – the host Cosmo Smallpiece went around to each table and introduced the evening for us.

Set with the task of choosing the best act to headline the very first London Fringe Festival, the performers began each of their pieces, each determined to be the chosen act, one of which was so determined, they would even murder someone who stood in the way of their success!

*(DRAMATIC SOUND EFFECT)*

Armed with several clues and our own observations, the audience was tasked with working out who had committed the murder, and fast. They’ve already murdered once, so who can guarantee they won’t do it again!

This was a night not to be forgotten, as we discovered how many little signs went unnoticed and worked together to decipher which clues were evidence and which would draw attention away from the true killer.

In a fantastically interactive show, the performers never break character when interacting with the guests, even when they’re busy playing with their “glowing magic boxes” (ie. phones) often proclaiming WITCHCRAFT! when met with anything not found in their decade.

If you’re looking for a quiet night out, taking in a relaxing show – this isn’t for you.

But if you’re up for a night of murder, mystery and intrigue, make sure you don’t miss this one (and bring backup, every good detective needs a trusted partner).
