Phil, Steve and Steve are indeed three bearded blokes. Three bearded blokes who sing and tell jokes. A Boomer, a fan of Japanese toilets and a man with a disco stick.

Mixing singing and comedy is not an easy path to tread. And if you can’t actually sing (and know it) it takes even more confidence. These guys have that confidence and use their songs to great effect.

Opening with a song and each singing a couple of times during their individual sets there are some moments of laugh-out-loud, self-effacing, comedy gold.

Appearing to be straightforward blokes Three Bearded Blokes know what it takes to get some laughs keeping the content local and relatable. Telegraphing puns to maximum effect they know the ropes to get a laugh before the punchline, another at the punchline and probably a follow-up with the right face pull. A lot of the crowd were eating out of their hands.

First up Phil Cook is a self-confessed boomer who likes to update his investment portfolio while trying to keep his head down at home.

Steve Hogden then takes us on a lengthy trip to his predilection for Japanese toilets and the sexy ways the Japanese Govt. is bringing up population levels.

Finally, Steve Teune comes on and before long he showing us his “Disco Stick”. Don’t worry, it’s a musical instrument.

I would guess most of the techy guys spent the first few minutes trying to work out which knobs and lights were relevant to the sounds before realising that the sounds and song were pretty good actually.

This combination of acts works well to move the hour quickly with plenty of good laughs. There is room though to drop the easy lines that touch nerves that are too raw or simply in bad taste. Solid.
