Four talented, experienced and downright hilarious comics take to the stage at ‘A Cut Above’, a fringe classic with a handful of performers back after a two year Covid hiatus.

Nick Coppin produces the show, and also doubles as its MC. Nick is a happy go lucky London comic with a quick wit and has a million and one stories bound to make you laugh and, dare I say, think.

For ‘A Cut Above’ Coppin has assembled a motley crew of comedians each with their own unique brands of stand up, meaning that this show has something for everyone. Whether it’s a grim self deprecating set or observational humour delivered in a bizarre impersonation of a deep South accent, there is a lot to love about this show.

At the show I attended, each comic worked the crowd well and the best moments came from the off the cuff comedy these interactions generated. Go and see this show and whatever you do - don’t mention the carpet!

I was a little disappointed that some of the material these comics used was recycled from a few years ago, but each act was solid and even the old material made me laugh. I really enjoyed the middle performer, a Scottish comic who is also a local in Perth. He had a great take on Perth’s culture that audiences will love. My apologies to this performer - I couldn’t grab his name properly at the end of the show.

A solid comedy show well worth the ticket price. You will be in great hands with Nick and co, and are bound to get a few solid laughs out of the night.
