Asians who aren’t so rich, whites with not so much privilege, black people who helplessly can’t rap and Latinos who are way more scary than sexy. This show turns racial stereotypes upside down, backwards and sideways in a hilarious hour of comedy that’ll have you roaring.

The token white guy, David Rose, is your MC for the night. With claimed Hebrew heritage and Melbournian swagger, Rose cheerfully gets to know you all (including those hiding in the back!) with that question we’ve all learned to cringe at, “so, where dya come from?” This lanky lad knows how to work a crowd and gets you all ready for a night of wholehearted belly laughs.

On the night this reviewer attended, there was a plethora of ethnic comedians: He Huang with her filthy tongue; Thabo Tshuma and his questionable fashion sense; Tyrone King and his racist cat; and Nicole Shi with her new visa sponsor! Each comedian brought their best game for their ten-minute slots and really got us all cackling.

Two comedians who really stood out that night were Shash Kapur and Bruno Oliveira. Bruno spoke of the trials and tribulations of being second gen, trying to remain true to your heritage yet ultimately, despite your best efforts, hopelessly brutalizing the lingo. His scary come fiery presence is unique in the Perth comedy scene and one I look forward to seeing again.

Shash is a PG guy who makes you giggle without the usual crass dick jokes – don’t get me wrong, we all love a dick joke here and there but it was a breath of fresh air to see a whole set without even the mention of one! Instead, he plays on the Indian stereotypes that we all recognise - no yoga retreat in Rishikesh or suffering from Delhi belly needed to understand this comic! His jokes that make himself chuckle and his playful nature are too adorable to miss. Some wholesome fun to look out for at other Fringe shows!

All in all a great night out for anyone with a spicy heritage, or anyone who loves travelling further than Bali, or anyone who enjoys this multicultural melting pot we all call home.
