Turn, Hell-hound, Turn!
About this event
Turn, Hell-Hound, Turn! Is a dynamic and immersive adaption of Shakespeare's
Scottish play, that explores the unrelenting nightmare of ambition within
the age of capitalist self-succession.
This new translation by WAAPA graduates Lucy Lock and Jay Peardon, is a visceral reimagining of Macbeth that blurs the tensions of ambition and success. Shakespeare's language is burst open to reveal the unrelenting nightmare of sacrilegious ascendancy; of evil over good. With the help of an elusive ensemble, this production offers a window into the myth of self-determinism, placing the witches prophecy at the helm of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's rise and decline. So intoxicating in its anarchistic upending of Shakespeare's narrative, this unmissable piece of theatre is a rabid cry from the dark.
