If you were hoping to find at Fringe some kind of spiritual awakening to help you be your own highest power and unleash your inner Goddess, then turn your queer eye over to Reuben Kaye.
This exceptionally handsome and gender transcending dude helps us all get in touch with and remain strongly connected to our feminine divinity. Reuben is much more than a LGQTA comedian, a gifted motivational speaker; the “poster boy for calm and grace.”
The upscale classy audience had to bring their A Game for style as Reuben leaves nothing to chance with crucial attention detail such as having a meter long microphone made of human hair.
The audience warms up to Kaye’s poignant childhood memories which facilitates one’s self determination. Reuben jokes, “If you don’t clap it’s homophobia.”
An excellent four piece band named the Kaye Holes accompanies Reuben: keyboard, saxophone, guitar, and on drums a hipster red headed girl. You will be regaled with surprisingly refreshing takes on classic bands like The Cure as if performed by David Bowie.
Thanks to such a talented supporting band, Reuben Kaye may be the only Fringe performer who performs two different shows in one evening, back to back. It is definitely worth it to catch both because it feels like you can’t get enough. And if you’re lucky you’ll score free champagne gifted from Reuben herself as she mingles with the audience playing hostess with the mistress, dressed like the Thin White Duke except in black.
Intelligent humor abounds with everything from political satire to art commentary. This isn’t a show for the faint of heart because it will make it beat very fast! It is not a show for kids what with the explicit language however it is for all of us who remain eternally young at heart!
