Stand-up comedy at its best! Pete Rowsthorn is light on his feet and king of comedy on the fly.

This world premiere is a unique opportunity to catch the star of well-known Australian TV comedies, Pete Rowsthorn, performing for the first time at Fringe since 1987.

His new comedy is based on his family life as a middle-aged man and some of the most hilarious moments in his life.

In it he leaks the inside goss on many of his most popular TV shows including the iconic Kath and Kim, Thank God You’re Here, The Comedy Company, Can We Help? and the movie Kath and Kimderella.

It is his recent stint on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! that really delivers the gold though, with hilarious stories about why he signed up for it, what really went down in Africa, and entertaining personal encounters with the other celebrities – definitely not shown on the show!

Rowsthorn is incredibly animated in his physicality, voice, and facial expressions, vividly taking off different characters in his stories.

Highlight for me was Rowsthorn’s daggy dance moves - and that face! My cheeks are still aching!

Rowsthorn has fun with the audience, interacting beautifully. He has a great memory for looping back and weaving in content in as he goes, making each show unique, fresh, and up to date.

Frankie, one of Rowsthorn’s teenage daughters, still learning the ropes, shows great comedic promise. It’s worth seeing the show just to be able to say you saw her when she was starting out.

They loop together well off the cuff and she’s a complimentary foil to Rowsthorn’s high energy mayhem, having a more centred vibe. Frankie’s acute observations of life from the perspective of an 18 year is sharply honed and highly entertaining.

See this if you loved Rowsthorn’s TV shows and love a bit of insider gossip. See it if you are middle aged and laugh with Rowthorn as he pokes fun at his own aging and misadventures as a parent living with teenagers and meet upcoming stand-up comedian Frankie.
