Kinetica have done it again, bringing the family friendly ‘Outrageous’ back for it’s third iteration. I think people can sometimes look at a show they have seen before and think ‘I’ve seen this before, let’s see something different’ not realising how different the versions can be year to year.
There are many similarities, the cast again brought high energy, humour, death defying aerials, contortion (that made my stomach contort to watch), fire performance and acro to this high octane show, but the show itself, is a brand new version.
This is a modern-day circus. There are no clowns in baggy clothes, red noses and curly wigs or animals doing things that animals don’t normally do, instead it is people doing things that bodies don’t normally do. The strength and skill of each of the cast members was incredible to see. Not only were they skilled in their act of choice, but they were also skilled performers. Like a more ‘old school’ circus, the audience felt completely engaged and connected, it felt like a show that had been created for the audience rather than just to show off the skills.
This show is wholesome family entertainment! It can be so hard to find a show that appeals to people of all ages, so often, as a parent, you have to choose between sitting through a kids show or finding someone to look after the kids so you can go out and watch a show. For those who aren’t struggling with the whole kid vs adult show thing, there are people who can find some of the more sizzling shows a little bit much. Outrageous III is a great show for those wanting a show that is suitable for kids but also appeals to the parents or for those who perhaps aren’t quite ready for a higher sizzle factor.
Outrageous III delivers breath taking moments and a beautiful display of energy and artistry, all with the artists keeping their clothes on and maintaining a G rating.
