This is my second year attending Kings of Boylesque, and what an absolute privilege it is to be reviewing it this time around!
The ever-fabulous Karl kicked things off in spectacular fashion, as always—seriously, is there anything this human can’t do? His opening number set the perfect tone for a night of jaw-dropping performances.
Hot on his heels was the one and only Johnny Wild, who, surprisingly, kept his tackle tucked away this time! A rare moment, indeed—but no less captivating.
Next up, the adorable Trey Frenchie, who—running late for his flight—with some very cute briefs on—decided to get drunk at the bar instead and in the most hilarious turn of events, he gave us a glimpse of how he became a new dad irl. Absolutely brilliant! He got da moves!
Then came Bobbie Sox—or should that be Bobbie Beard? Their act was an absolute delight, and can we talk about those heels? And the sparkly suit afterwards? Pure magic!
Every act brought incredible creativity and imagination to the stage, but for me, the undisputed highlight of the night was, hands down—or should that be hands up?—the phenomenal Blue Phoenix! I have never seen a male pole dancer that breathtakingly skilled. Every move was executed with strength, grace, and sheer artistry.
We were also treated to Matthew Pope’s Mx Burlesque performance, which was nothing short of divine. And yes, she smacks her lips—Mwah! That costume? Flawless. That presence? Beyond words. There simply aren’t enough adjectives to capture just how incredible this performer is!
Bringing the night to an explosive close was Egson Ham, whose finale had the entire audience in stitches, screaming with laughter, and singing along. An absolutely perfect way to end an unforgettable show!
If you haven’t seen Kings of Boylesque, do yourself a favor and go! This is the final week of Fringe, so grab your friends and get your tickets before they sell out! It never fails to deliver, and I’ll forever support anything produced by The Kayoss Factory, Alexas Armstrong, and BarbieQ. They consistently bring magic to the stage, and I’ll be in the audience every chance I get!
