Icons is hosted by the magnificent Kimmy Head, who kept the crowd laughing all night long – even when an audience member’s chair broke in the front row. Thank God Kimmy is a certified Drag-amedic and knows SLAY-P-R!

This show starts off with a bright red bang as the Sugar Blue Sweethearts perform a massive, extravagant burlesque number. Up next, we are treated to Sassy Limb’s incredible feats of flexibility. In the words of Kimmy Head: “I could totally do that, just not in this dress!”

Amelia Kisses is utterly extraordinary as Ariana Grande, serving face, serving body, serving ponytail… and ponytail… and ponytail. Did I mention the ponytail? All twelve of them? Amelia Kisses is a delight to witness on stage—equal parts gorgeous, gregarious, and glittery.

I also adored Autumn Daze’s enchantingly enticing and wonderfully sparkly take on Taylor Swift. Plus, Bebe Babow seriously set the room on fire as Doja Cat. She kept it juicy-juicy with her jaw-dropping makeup, outfits, and dance moves.

Réya Bambina showed us all that she is an icon, she is a legend, and she is the moment. Her work is gorgeous, fabulous fun, and her costume changes were so unexpected and creative.

The Tipsy Twosome seriously slayed Britney’s Slave 4 U with much more leather, chains, and leashes than I was expecting at 4pm on a Sunday – not that I’m complaining! I just would’ve brought a fan if I knew things were going to get so HOT.

Of course, I don’t think it’s possible to celebrate pop icons without including the Goddess of Pop. I am, of course, referring to Miss Flo Jangles – wait, I mean, Cher! Sorry, I just got a bit confused because they look IDENTICAL. With all the disco balls spinning in the air and the amount of purple on stage, Miss Flo Jangles truly time-warped us straight to the eighties.

Pop star icons are icons for a reason – they top the charts, redefine their genre, and completely change the game forever. Sugar Blue Burlesque’s FRINGE WORLD show, Icons, does all of the above. This stunningly sexy show pays tribute to some of the most legendary female pop icons of our time, with bodacious burlesque and dazzling drag that will leave you begging for more.
