The independent production company Moirai Productions brings to the Old Mill Theatre Fate: A New Musical for FRINGE WORLD Perth 2025.

This production explores a tale of love, heartbreak, death, and the choices we make—or are forced to make—by the hands of the Greek Moirai (The Fates), generally presented as three sisters who control the strings of human destiny in Greek mythology. But what happens when one of The Fates longs to experience what it means to be human—in 1990s Chicago?

Directed by Britanny Isaia, with Cohen Aubery Hancock as Stage Manager, this production delves into human nature, the interplay between choice and fate, and the intricate webs that connect us all.

Each performer delivered emotional, captivating performances, portraying the struggles of their characters while highlighting how different experiences shape multiple possible outcomes. The choreography, lyrics, script, and sound design came together seamlessly, allowing the audience to connect deeply with the characters in an incredibly heartfelt and thought-provoking way.

The cast includes Ella Monaghan as Lachesis, Blair Price-Morgan as Theo, Jessica Huysing as Atropos, Ciara Malone as Clotho, Lukas Perez as Em, Paige Alexander as Pregnant Woman, Tashlin Church as Theo’s Sister, Artorius Emanuel as Baby’s Father, Kieran Ridgway as Security Guard, and Jessica Wilkins as the Hospital Receptionist.

The show’s technical and musical elements were crafted by an exceptional creative team. The choreography was created by Lia Shilo, Evelyn Ward, and Sophie Boyland. The musical score was composed and orchestrated by Stella Byrne, who also played piano, with lyrics by Lily Petterwoord. Guitar was performed by Xavier Roberts and Shalin Bigwood, with additional orchestrations and musical direction by Mathew Leak. The sound design and operation were handled by Zac Bowers, while lighting design and operation were by Joel Brooker.

Everything—from stunning visuals to evocative music and dynamic choreography—hit the mark perfectly, making this production a deeply engaging and emotional experience.

If you love Greek mythology and musical theatre, Fate: A New Musical is an absolute must-see!
