Local talent shines bright Retro Lights is, in short, a delightful dance and music show by WA performers that truly showcased the talent and creativity of our community.

The show featured music from many eras, seamlessly blending classic tunes with contemporary hits to create a nostalgic yet fresh experience for the audience.

The performers' use of lighting was original and spectacular. Each dance and saxophone number was centred around a unique lighting medium that enhanced the energy of the performance. The artists even ventured into the risky yet awe-striking use of fire which is a feat unto itself.

From slower, more emotional pieces to vibrant, pulsating lights for the high-energy numbers, the lighting design played a crucial role in bringing each piece to life and making it a visual feast for the audience.

The live saxophone and vocals were equally impressive, with each performer bringing a plethora of energy and talent to the stage.

The musicians basked in lively covers of 80s, 90s and 00s hits making sure that every member of the family could sing along and lean over to whisper “oh this is one of my favourites!”.

Retro Lights will have the entire audience clapping and singing along. The performers' enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear that they were having as much fun on stage as we were in the audience.

A small number of dance routines appeared to repeat some tricks and turns and so lacked complexity, which contrasted with strong individual performances.

Overall, this show is a fantastic family-friendly event that celebrates music and dance. The local performers' talent and creativity shone through in every aspect of the production, making it a truly magical event for all who attended.
