Great crowd at the Wanneroo venue. Go for dinner before the show and enjoy the atmosphere. Loved the vibe created at the venue and the comedians looked relaxed in the space.
Joe White did a great job as MC and got the crowd going. I have watched him over the years and appreciate his sense of humour and crowdwork. Sorry to know he has now moved to Melbourne. In the wise words of an audience member.... MOVE BACK!
Having all the comedians come out and be more Australian than me, being born here to ethnic parents was a real laugh. The interaction with the audience set the pace for the show from the start.
It was refreshing to hear jokes that pushed the boundary of acceptable... remember the 80s when comedy was just about making fun of ourselves? I absolutely loved that there was some of this being shared again with us as a society being force-fed political correctness and over-sensitivity. It was great to be able to laugh at ourselves again as an Australian society with all that is happening in our world.
Having a few comedians as a taster to their own comedy shows is a great way to offer an insight into what is out there for us as an audience. I do like the best of comedy shows for this reason. If I really like a comedian, I will then go and see their show.
The mix of old and new comedians was also great to see. I like the style of feeling like a mate sitting and chatting, listening to stories. All comedians had something to offer that was a little different, some with great material.
Go get a taster of what is out there with any best of shows!
