A Bee Story immediately throws you into the life of two bees struggling to rebuild their hive after a bushfire rips through and they are left with nothing except a flute and a unicycle. The bees must overcome several obstacles to find the perfect location for their new home.

A “bee-utiful” show that is a combination of acrobatics, circus tricks and music, A Bee Story showcases the amazing hard work of bees both on the stage and in real life!

The performers were incredibly dazzling with their acrobatic stunts, edge-of-your-seat balancing and unbelievable strength. Astonishingly, the Queen Bee could manage to play the flute at the same time as performing acrobatics!

Impressively, the performers independently managed all the props and costumes throughout the show and artistically worked the scene transitions into the show. They interacted with the audience by encouraging us to clap and cheer, and made us feel a part of the show when they ran between scenes.

The costumes were brilliant and the characterisation of the bees and the emotions they felt throughout the show were portrayed well through excellent facial expressions and body language.

This show synchronizes all the movement to music and the timing of each extraordinary trick was perfect. One thing that is amazing about the show is the juggling of knives . . . on a unicycle! There was also some epic skipping - again, on a unicycle. A Bee Story retained the circus tricks all the way through until the end of the incredible show!

This show is for all ages, so bring the whole hive. “Bee” sure to come soon because it is only on until early February. Young children will enjoy the bright costumes, artistic props and lovable bees. Adults will be stunned by the acrobatics and toe-tapping tunes. Older children will appreciate the deeper message of the importance of bees in society, which is told in a way they have never seen “bee-fore”.

I rate this show 5 out of 5 stars!
