You’ve got booze, brunch, beats, b*tches and BINGO – the best way to spend a Sunday arvo during Fringe. Local drag icon, Dean Misdale, is your host for an afternoon of fabulous fun. They’ve handpicked a different line-up of drag performers each week to entertain you whilst you nurse your hangovers and catch up with your galpals. And not only galpals I might add - for there were couples, groups and surprisingly… families with dogs! In Dean’s own words, “for ladies, gentlemen, theys, gays and everyone else!”

The week this reviewer attended, accompanying Dean was Skye Scraper - the tallest drag queen accountant in the world! Skye mastered the stage with their jazz hands and super high kicks. We were lucky enough to even receive a lesson in the eight essential moves for every drag performer. Well worth a watch!

Joining these local legends was newbie drag king, Blake Cassette. With a punk rock, sassy presence, Blake performed a repertoire of lip-syncing routines that got the audience clapping and jigging along.

In between these drag dances, costume changes and Dean’s demonstrations of their own belting vocals, there was everyone’s favourite cheap thrill pastime – BINGO! Each naughty number was read out by Dean with anecdotes and quips to create more suspense and get the blood pumping. All audience members got involved and winners were rewarded with the opportunity to strut their stuff on the catwalk – a great chance to try out those drag moves from Skye if they dared!

An afternoon truly well spent. So grab your mates, grab your mum (not like that you dutty pig!), and grab your dog to continue your Fringe binge throughout the weekend! The best combination of wholesome but naughty fun for absolutely everybody to enjoy.
