You know a family friendly performance is great when small children are jumping up and down with excitement in their seats! Not only were the children excited, but so were the adults when watching Circus Ricochet.

I know I certainly screamed a few times! I was in the front row and these skilled circus performers had me jumping in my seat when they spun up and down silks, climbed up ropes and balanced on multiple chairs. There was also juggling, comedy, stilt walking, diabolos and a Chinese pole acrobat.

A fabulous local company, Circus Ricochet, is a team of highly skilled performers who are led by the joyful diabolo juggling Morgan James. The skill he shows with that diabolo (even two at once) is breath-taking. The diabolo is a tricky little device that unfortunately can look easier than it is, but Morgan made it look truly impressive.

Morgan’s dream is, “To travel the world and make each and every person – regardless of age, race, gender or religion – more happy.”

Well, Circus Ricochet certainly made the Sunday night crowd in Perth very happy; smiling, laughing faces abounded, even that difficult to impress teenage group of boys were hooting and hollering with excitement.

A highlight of the show for me was the youngest cast member doing some quite unusual acrobatic feats with a tower of books—strange, quirky and very cool.

The finale is stunning with all of the multi-talented cast involved in a firey spectacular that had the whole audience gasping with delight and awe at their skill. I asked my friend what he thought and his response was--It was better than I expected and I would go again."

Take your whole family to see Circus Ricochet for an exuberant hour of fun and you too could be jumping in your seat!
