It’s right there in the title - It’s About Time is a one-man show all about the evolution of time telling through the ages. Michael Bresnahan takes his audience on a journey through the past; dropping in and out of key periods to explain how we came to our modern understanding of time.

Have you ever wondered who came up with the theory of the Big Bang? Or how we first discovered time zones? If you have a burning desire to know more about time and how far humanity has come in our understanding of it, then It’s About Time is the show for you!

Equal parts Ted Talk and theatre performance, It’s About Time is populated by a variety of colourful characters, all portrayed by Bresnahan. He jumps from Isaac Newton to the ancient Sumerian Emperor Gilgamesh, to George the Talking Clock, distinguishing each character by way of a whole host of accents. Accompanied by a classroom-worthy series of projections, Bresnahan aims for you to leave the show knowing more than you did when you arrived.

It’s About Time breaks down complex concepts and delves into lesser-known periods of the past to provide an informative and detailed timeline of just how our understanding and perception of time has changed over the centuries. From France’s 10-hour clocks to the family who made their living “selling time”, you’ll be sure to learn something new at this show!

However, if you’re too young to remember George the Talking Clock, then It’s About Time might not be the show for you – you’re probably not quite the target demographic. Not all of the humour quite hits the mark but despite this, the show is educational and informative. So, if you love to learn and are keen to know more about time and how we understand it, then don’t miss It’s About Time.
