Human Library Perth Book Café
Join us at FRINGE WORLD to discover the stories behind assumptions, challenge preconceptions, and "unjudge" someone at the Human Library Book Café.
The Human Library® is a global movement for social change, and is exactly what it sounds like, a library of people! Our Books are real people from the community who have experienced prejudice, stigmatisation, or discrimination. Readers will enter a respectful space where they can borrow a Book, listen to their personal stories, and ask questions with the aim to build understanding and “unjudge” someone.
Sessions are 30 minutes with up to 4 Readers per Book. All of our Books are volunteers.
"The reading was emotional, and the group interaction made it very moving, something you can't get from a printed book." ★★★★★ Human Library Reader, 2025

The Human Library® is a global movement for social change. It is, in the true sense of the word, a library of people. We host events where readers can borrow human beings serving as open books and have conversations they would not normally have access to.Social media
