About this event

You're on a journey of self-discovery. A road trip to Recovery. The drive is difficult, but your car hums along to 80s pop/rock and life's good. That is until the peace lily you just picked up at Bunnings tells you you're a piece of s**t.

Winner of the Melbourne 'Be You Inc Cabaret Entre', War & Peace Lilies dives into the complex relationships between man and plant, flora and fauna, self-actualization and looming existential dread. Written and performed by Nicholas Mayer in His Majesty's Theatre Dress Circle Bar.

Presented by:
Nicholas Mayer

Nicholas is a singer, actor, and writer currently based in Melbourne. He is a recent graduate of the 2018 cohort of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre, at the Victorian College of the Arts. Before studying at VCA, Nicholas completed a Cert IV in Music Theatre at WAAPA. Nicholas has toured on various productions with the National Theatre for children through Western Australia and Queensland. In 2019, he was the winner of the 'Be You Inc Cabaret Entre'. Since then, he has been developing his winning cabaret into a one hour feature titled War & Peace Lilies.
