About this event

Shane McMullan is back with a new comedy, perfect for families. This is a personal look at what happens when kids define intelligence by the things they can't do, rather than the things they can.

Presented with a perfect blend of Theatre, slapstick comedy and stand-up style, this show will leave the little ones laughing their butts off while the parents learn a thing or two from this struggling students turned triumphant teacher.

When spelling, times tables, or an upcoming fitness test seems like an insurmountable objective, how do we go on? Much like climbing a mountain, we just put one foot in front of the other, and keep moving forward. Whatever our pace, we make progress as long as we don't give up.

Presented by:
IntotheMask Theatre

We are an educational theatre company, which focuses on physical comedy. We specialise in Commedia dell’Arte; a style of theatre developed throughout the renascence and is credited as the origin of slapstick comedy, clowning, mime, and even some of the early circus arts. This piece is being spear headed by long time collaborator Shane McMullan, who is a teacher and performer. Having over 10 years experience as a school teacher, he understands how difficult school can be for students who struggle and feel like everyone else is pulling away from them in one way or another. This show is for them. Shane has also trained in physical theatre in Italy, and often travels to Primary and Secondary school as a specialist teacher to share his love of Commedia dell’Arte with students of all ages.
